I want to share this creative use for color copies with my readers: I use my color copy machine to get images of home decor. I also copy prints and patterns from clothing when I need to shop for items and match colors. I carry copies of my color schemes with me out to the stores.
I started this because I have a colorful china pattern, as you can see in the picture. It's Royal Dalton, Flora Dora Green. It can be tricky to match with linens and other table top accessories. One day I put a saucer in my HP all in one color copier and I liked the result. It was super quick and the color was accurate! The real napkin is on the right in the photo and the color copy is on the left.
If you don't have a machine you might try taking a digital photo and making a print out. However the colors will change because you added light sources into the mix. There are simple adjustments such as brightness and scale that take only a few minutes on the color copier. If the top of the unit does not close, throw a towel over the top so light doesn't get in around the edges when you copy.
The color copies are not only useful for shopping. You can use them for other projects too! I tuck the paper copy in my handbag before heading out to the shopping mall. I don't have to worry about breaking a plate or carrying any extra bags. I hope you like this tip!
